Profile

I am interested in the interplay between phoneme and morpheme. I like to create a tension between "natural" speech and linguistic eloquence, creating a flux of meaning. In my performance, sound and page work I use humour to evoke the wonderful irregularities of language. Each text is unbound to specific medium, existing as hybrid works in many versions.

Holly Pester has been devising live and printed texts for two years, mainly based in London. She has recently begun experimenting in sound pieces and live improvisations. Holly has an MA in Writing from Roehampton University and is currently undertaking a practice-based PhD in Poetics at Birkbeck, University of London.
